University Exit Exam Set for June
According to a Friday announcement from the Ministry of Education, the first exit exams for undergraduate students at Ethiopian universities will be given in June.
At the end of the current academic year in Ethiopia, the ministry decided to administer the exit exam to all undergraduate students at private and public higher education institutions.
The exam is a component of the sector reform initiative intended to improve the standard of instruction in universities and colleges.
Therefore, it is anticipated that around 200,000 first-degree students will take the exit exam this year.
With representatives from higher education institutions in Ethiopia, education authorities conducted a consultation conference on Friday to evaluate the exit exam and determine which subjects it covers.
The exam will be administered at the same time in June, according to the CEO of academic affairs at the Ministry, Ebba Mijena (Ph.D.).
To ensure the exam’s integrity, the Ministry of Education decided to conduct it online.
Authorities instructed both public and private universities earlier this month to get ready with the infrastructure needed to conduct the exit test online.
